DescriptionThis delicate perfume flask is in the shape of a buta (Hindi for “flower”), a paisley or plume-shaped motif of Persian origin that is commonly found in Indian design. The flask is decorated in enamel with red flowers and green leaves on a blue ground. A cluster of four pearls and green glass beads are affixed to the bottom of the flask, which would have been suspended from a thin chain at the wearer’s neck or waist.
