DescriptionThis incense burner is carved from pale green nephrite jade and inset with gemstones in the shape of flowering plants. The gems are embedded within thin strips of pure gold (a technique known as kundan), and delicate gold wire forms stems and vines. The carved filter - obscured by smoke when the incense burner was in use - is made of perforated marble in the shape of a bejeweled peacock amidst foliage.
