DescriptionThis jali, or lattice screen, is one of four window jalis located in the bathroom of the Mughal Gallery. These perforated marble screens filter sunlight into the private space. The botanical decorations are based on examples from marble dado (lower wall) panels at the Taj Mahal. The flower depicted on this jali may be a crown imperial (fritillaria imperialis).On View
