DescriptionThis serpent-shaped ring is designed to coil around the wearer’s finger. The gold is lightly etched with a scale-like texture. Often seen as protective figures in the Hindu tradition, serpents were frequently incorporated into Mughal jewelry by the artists of many faiths (Jain, Hindu, Buddhist etc) working in the royal ateliers (workshops).
