These lamps were created by Jonas Defries & Sons, a London glass firm that operated between the mid 19th- to early 20th centuries. Defries & Sons specialized in lighting fixtures, producing elegant chandeliers for London theaters and other public buildings. The firm also designed products for clientele in Western, Southern, and East Asia. Aiming at the Indian market, Defries & Sons challenged the monopoly on the Indian market held by another British firm, F. & C. Osler.</schema:description><schema:artForm>com.gallerysystems.emuseum.core.entities.Classification@166</schema:artForm><schema:width>24.1000000000 Inches</schema:width><schema:height>24.7650000000 Inches</schema:height><schema:height>6.3500000000 Inches</schema:height><schema:height>43.8000000000 Inches</schema:height><schema:url>http://collection.shangrilahawaii.org/objects/5560/rdf</schema:url></schema:VisualArtwork></rdf:RDF>
