This fireplace is based on a prototype from the Mughal Fort in Lahore. It was commissioned in 1965 from the Chishty Brothers in Lahore and installed at Shangri La in 1972, replacing the original fireplace created by the Delhi-based firm, C.G. and F.B. Blomfield.
